You feel stressed and overwhelmed with everything that is happening in your life. You are noticing the physical signs of accumulated stress in your body, including headaches, tension, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, and digestive issues.
You have tried more traditional methods for managing stress and trauma related issues and you aren’t noticing any real change in your day to day experience. It’s hard to think clearly when your body is out of balance and your mind is jumping from one thing to the next.
It seems like you won’t ever be able to bring balance back into your system and live a life free of the impacts of constant stress.
Many other people experience chronic stress and the impacts of this on their mind, bodies, and spirits.
Oftentimes we have tried to manage stress using our mind and other ways to manage the stress in our environment. The reason this isn’t always effective is that stress is created in our bodies and it is more effective to manage stress with practices that integrate the body and mind.
Maybe you have tried a bunch of different things without resulting in the level of stress you are experiencing. You may have found strategies that help temporarily, but you haven’t been able to consistently build stress resilience into your life to reduce your overall stress levels.
Working with a practitioner who has experience with both psychotherapy methods and yoga therapy will provide a holistic approach to shift the way you relate to and manage stress in your life.
Even if you have a regular yoga and/or meditation practice, you may be doing practices that actually take your system out of balance. Working with a yoga therapist involves an assessment process that will help identify different imbalances within your system.
Once we have a better understanding of what may be out of balance, we will create personalized practices for you to integrate into your everyday life that helps to balance the nervous system through physical postures (asanas), breath practices (pranayama), meditation practices (dharana and dhyana), as well as integrating yoga philosophy and lifestyle recommendations.
My goal is to support you to the ground and recenter quickly.
Yoga therapy provides the framework, tools, and practices that allow you to connect to your inner teacher and support you in having a greater sense of control over your life.
What are the results of yoga therapy?
I know it can feel hopeless, but it is possible to have a healthy relationship with stress and reduce the impacts of stress on your mind, body, and spirit.
