About Rachel Wilson
You deserve support.
Reaching out to a therapist to support your healing journey is pretty badass because admitting you can’t do it alone requires courage.
I would be honored to guide you in the process of coming home to yourself and reclaiming control of your life.
If you chose to work with me, we would collaborate in weekly therapy sessions using an integrated somatic approach to help you build self-awareness of mind, body, and spirit.
We will use the body and mind to identify and release emotions, thoughts, and beliefs that are keeping you blocking you from living authentically.
We work simultaneously to build your capacity to manage emotions through yogic, somatic, and mindfulness practices while exploring how your current reality is shaped by past experiences and societal messages about who you are.
I honor your expertise in your life while providing honest insights into my observations of patterns and somatic expressions to help you bring awareness to unconscious parts of yourself that impede your ability to make choices aligned with your highest good.
The more self-awareness you develop, the more agency you have to create your desired life.
To get there, you need to take the first step.
Getting Started.
The process starts with an initial free 15-minute video or phone consultation to explore your goals for therapy, explore my process, and ask questions to assess if you would like to schedule an initial appointment. You must complete paperwork and a short questionnaire before the initial appointment.
During the initial appointment, we will go deeper into what you are currently experiencing to understand better what contributes to your current experiences. We will clarify what you want to work on and finalize a treatment plan to guide our work together. This collaborative process allows me to understand how to support you best moving forward.
The Ongoing Healing Work
Moving forward, we will meet weekly to support you in meeting your goals. This is a personalized process, and each session will look different depending on what you hope to work on. I strive to provide a space where you can share all the parts of yourself, from the deepest pain to the greatest joy. While exploring what’s happening in your life, we will slow things down to build awareness of body sensations and identify the roots of your emotional experiences.
I integrate yoga and mindfulness practices in sessions to provide resources for emotional regulation and guidance on applying these practices to everyday life.
We will explore patterns and identify strategies to balance your life and relationships. We work to build your capacity to identify what is happening internally and explore strategies to bring yourself back into alignment, including practices to regulate emotions, self-advocacy, or relationship practices.
While the process can feel daunting to begin, it is the best investment you can make in yourself. If you're considering therapy, you're taking a significant step towards transforming your life.
Prioritizing your well-being can profoundly reshape your perspective on life. If you feel the time is right, I would love to guide you in the healing process.
About Me.
My name is Rachel Wilson (she/her). I am a psychotherapist and yoga therapist committed to supporting self-reliant idealists who are tired of making everyone else happy to prioritize their well-being, reclaim their voice, and create a sovereign life.
I am passionate about providing a sanctuary for people to tell their stories, settle their nervous systems, and reclaim their personal power.
I blend the insights of yogic wisdom, somatic practices, and traditional psychotherapy to craft a holistic approach. This approach not only focuses on your individual self but also considers the profound influence of your environment, relationships, and societal dynamics on your well-being.
With over a decade of experience as a therapist, I have worked in various settings, including juvenile hall, community-based public mental health, a mental health clinic serving teens and young adults, and my practice serving teens and adults.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in psychology from the Univerity of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a Master's in Social Work from the University of California, Berkeley. I have been a certified yoga teacher for over a decade, and I completed my 800-hour yoga therapy program with Niroga Institute in 2018.
My Philosophy on Healing
Healing is a process of seeking the truth, both individually and collectively. And these truths are intertwined.
We must find the individual and collective truths of where our suffering stems from to create shifts that target the roots.
We live in a toxic culture that makes us all believe we are the problem— we are too needy, sensitive, and overly emotional.
We internalize that we are to blame for being mistreated at a collective level (oppression) or relational level (abuse).
Healing starts with ourselves but doesn’t end there. The deeper we go into our knowledge and self-reflection, we connect to the truth of our interconnection with each other.
Personal transformation requires creating time to cultivate a loving relationship with yourself, which translates into doing less harm in the world and contributing to positive change.
Self-reflection means more than just understanding our thoughts and internal worlds. It means shifting our actions and how we relate to others to honor our individual needs and the needs of others.
It is about aligning values and behaviors, which apply to us individually and collectively.
My work focuses on supporting individual transformation with therapy and yoga therapy, providing resources for collective resourcing, and supporting intentional actions to build a better personal and collective future.
