You hold it together for everyone.
Who holds you?
Somatic trauma therapy for sensitive, high-achieving people in Oakland, CA — in person and online.
If you're here, some of this probably sounds familiar
You're the capable one — the person everyone leans on. From the outside, you look like you've got it handled, and most days you do. But underneath:
You can't turn your brain off, even when you're completely wiped out.
You say "yes" when you mean "no," then quietly resent it later.
You're carrying everyone else's feelings, and there's no one carrying yours.
You don't notice how depleted you are until your body finally makes you stop.
You keep telling yourself to just toughen up — like everyone else seems to manage fine.
Here's the thing: it's not that you're too sensitive, too soft, or not cut out for this. You've just never been taught how to work with the way you're wired instead of against it. And a lot of what's wearing you down isn't a personal failing — it's how much you've been carrying, for how long, mostly on your own.
Imagine moving through your days like this
Feeling steady in your own body — not braced for the next thing.
Setting boundaries that actually stick, without the guilt spiral afterward.
Trusting your gut instead of overthinking every decision to death.
Knowing how to come back to yourself when you get overwhelmed.
Having room again for the people and the parts of life you've been too drained to enjoy.
You don't have to choose between your sensitivity and your success. We'll build a way of being that honors both.
Meet Rachel Wilson
I'm a somatic and trauma-informed therapist who helps sensitive, high-achieving people reconnect with their bodies, their boundaries, and a sense of ease they may not have felt in years.
For nearly 20 years, I've worked with people who carry invisible weight — the ones who are deeply capable, care a lot, and are quietly exhausted underneath it all. If you've spent years holding everything together and wondering why rest feels so out of reach, you're in good company here.
My work moves on a few levels at once. We use body-based tools to help you build a real, felt sense of safety from the inside out — and we pair that with deeper relational work, getting underneath the patterns you learned in order to survive so you can replace them with ways of relating to yourself and others that bring you more connection, ease, and joy.
I also bring an anti-oppressive, systems-aware lens to this work. So much of what wears sensitive people down isn't a personal flaw — it's shaped by bigger forces: workplaces that demand endless output, a culture that takes more than it gives back, and structures that ask some of us to carry far more than others. We name those honestly, so healing never becomes one more thing that's on you to fix alone.
Your sensitivity isn't the thing to fix — it's the source of your intuition, your depth, and your care, once you know how to work with it.
