Unfortunately, humans don’t work like that. We have emotions. We need other humans—Even when we have learned through our experiences that trusting other humans can be scary and painful.

Our culture teaches us to ignore and avoid our emotions at the cost of our emotional well-being, our ability to build healthy relationships and connect deeply to the world around us.

Our power lies in building awareness of our internal world and knowing how to regulate it. When we learn to befriend our emotions, we know what to do with them, so they stop controlling us.
