The Collective Care Letter

A letter twice a month on sensitivity, trauma, the nervous system, and the bigger picture around them.

I’m Rachel, a licensed therapist and certified yoga therapist. I’ve spent nearly 20 years in trauma work, from juvenile halls to my practice in Oakland. Twice a month, I write about the patterns I see showing up in the collective, the experiences so many of us share, how somatics can support your well-being, and how the world we live in shapes all of it.

Each letter brings:

  • Something to think about. Honest takes on sensitivity, trauma, burnout, and whatever keeps you on edge, so you can see your patterns clearly without the shame. No fluff, and no telling you to “just breathe.”

  • Something to try. A body-based practice you can use in real life: at your desk, before a hard conversation, or at 2 a.m. when you can’t settle. So you have something that helps in the moment, not just one more thing to know about.

  • What I’m making. New videos, workshops and resources, often before anyone else hears about them, so you can go deeper when you’re ready.

  • Community connections. Workshops, events and resources from other practitioners and organizers I trust, so you can find support beyond one person and feel part of something bigger.

This isn’t about becoming less sensitive or toughing it out. It’s about understanding why you feel the way you do, then practicing something different. I’ll be honest with you, and I’ll keep it practical.

Two emails a month. Leave anytime.
